Trail Description Trails were well marked. Lots of water. Varied terrain. Some climbs and some open meadows. Saw lots of wildlife. Didn't have a map, but there is one available. The trails were somewhat rocky, but not unmanagable. Lots to keep you interested.

Campground Campground was primitive. Pit toilet. No running water. Creek behind camp. Plenty of trees to highline to. Reservations required. Some 'free' camp spots along the road.

Directions Take exit 40 (Asheville airport exit) of I 26. Pass the airport, pass the NC Ag Cener. Go approx. 4 miles and take a Right onto 'N. Mills River Rd. Campground signs, lg. dairy farm on right. Stay straight on that road. Cross one large speed bump as you enter the forest. Take Right onto 'Wash Creek' (sm. sign post in ground). If you enter the 'people camp', you've gone to far. Stay on Wash creek until you come around a bend and see a lg. concrete bridge (at fork in road), take a right into the horse camp. Gated.

 More Difficult (Moderate hills over consistent surface; possibly some narrow trails and short steeper slopes)
